WILLEMSTAD – August 1st, 2024 – I am excited to announce that today marks the start of the #HONORtheChallenger project, a cause very close to my heart. As anALS patient, I find a powerfulanalogy between the poised, ready-to-sprint top athletes and those of us with ALS who are mentally prepared but physically restrained.
In this project, I am honored to serve as the poster boy. Despite my condition, I continue to challenge the odds by creating AI-generated art. This endeavor is not just about raising awareness but also about showcasing the resilience and creativity that can thrive despite adversity.
Raising awareness for ALS
The project is in association with HONOR, the global smartphone brand that advocates the use of assistive technology in its products, and aims to raise significant awareness for ALS research. As part of the project,people can learn more about ALS and make a contribution through the International Alliance of ALS associations, bringing us closer to finding a cure for this devastating disease. I have created a specific artwork for this project, and high-quality posters are available in my webshop.
I invite you to join me on this journey, honoring challengers everywhere who face their battles with unwavering spirit. To kick off the project, a video featuring my story will be airing on the BBC News Channel and BBC.com as of today, produced for HONOR by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.
